Background

Gurmuu Development Association also known as “Gurmuu” meaning synergy is a secular and nonpartisan local Civil Society Organization (CSO) established by associates aspired for a common purpose. A self-support traditional entity, Iddir/Afooshaa has laid a foundation for Gurmuu. It is one of the poverty driven people’s institution in Ethiopia. Gurmuu has been founded as NGO on March 31, 2005. It has been re-registered with the Agency of Civil Societies Organization bearing certificate number 0202. Gurmuu has over 140 members and supporters that makes it a general assembly-led civil society.
