Monitoring & Evaluation

Project implementation activities were monitored at various intervals, with the view of finding out possible plan-implementation, deviations and correcting the same. Monitoring is conducted on daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly time intervals, based on specific targets and indicators set in annual action plans. It mainly focuses on whether outputs and activities are accomplished or achieved as planned. The specific monitoring areas are: assessing the way the activities were carried out, the nature of resource utilization, identifying problems encountered, and unforeseen challenges and potentials, among others.

Among the major methods of monitoring used include: direct observation/supervision of activity implementation progress or status, discussion with project beneficiaries, and conducting annual participatory project assessment involving the donor, Gurmuu, the beneficiary community and concerned sector offices at the district level. Monitoring feedbacks, quarterly and annual reports were produced and communicated to concerned governmental and donors.
